Back To School Outfit Ideas

 

★ Hello Fashionistas! Today's blog post is all about Back To School Outfit Ideas! With most of us having been attending school for a while now after Summer break, you may have already ran out of outfit ideas! But no worries - Today I'm going to be sharing a small lookbook of outfit ideas for you guys, that you can make with basic items you may already have in your wardrobe! With that, let's get into today's post!

1. The Basic Tee & Jeans 

You can never go wrong with a plain tee and jeans look! These "basic" outfits are truly the blueprint in any wardrobe! Why? This is because you can make them your own no matter your aesthetic/style! 

This picture is a great example of this: 

Of course due to dress-coding, you'd need to wear a longer top, but as you can see, model Hailey Bieber paired coordinating colors and accessories together to make this look more cohesive and interesting! You can do the same with any t-shirt and pair of jeans you own to make a casual, yet cute school outfit on your lazy days! 

2. The Skirt & Sweater Vest

If you're going for a more polished look, never underestimate the power of a sweater vest! This simple, yet elegant pairing is perfect for both light and dark academia aesthetics! You can wear them together as they are, but there is an infinite number of ways that you can spice them up to make your outfit more interesting!

A great example of doing so, is this outfit! While this outfit has a neutral color scheme, it still pops because of the use of pattern and texture! And as a bonus, the boots in this outfit really stand out, so always make sure you have a statement piece when putting together an outfit! 

3. Sweatpants 

On a lazy school morning, you've likely been tempted to throw on a pair of sweatpants and call it a day! And honestly, same! Buttt, sweatpants don't necessarily need to be a bad thing! With the neutral colors that they come in, they are easy to pair in a variety of different outfits if you're going for a casual look!

I love this example of a sweatpants outfit, because it just screams cozy and comfortable! You can achieve this look by simply coordinating your colors together. Just by looking at this photo, what are you thinking of? I'm thinking of Fall! And that's literally how big of an impact colors can make! So, if you want to be comfortable - yet cute, make sure the colors you are pairing together match, and each aspect of your outfit is cohesive. 

4. A Hoodie

School buildings are usually pretty cold, so you likely end up wearing hoodies most of the time anyways (especially school branded ones), but you can still make them fashionable! The picture above is clearly a casual clean-girl look, which is evident by the slick-back bun, sunglasses and purse! No matter what element is the statement in your outfit, if you pair other items with it correctly, you can still match your aesthetic!

5. Maxi Skirts

Don't be afraid to add a bit of femininity to your everyday school outfit! Utilizing a maxi-skirt (or midi) is a great way to do so, without breaking the dress-code in your school! Not to mention the fact that skirts are a super easy way to convey a hyper-feminine aesthetic, like coquette - which is honestly super similar to a post I made a long while back! Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV): There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. 

This verse is POWERFUL! So powerful in fact, that I recently had a discussion with my friend (you know who you are ✨) about this exact verse!

You see, as humans we tend to always want things done our way - It's in our nature! "If you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself" is a quote we always use to justify us speeding up our timing. But what if instead of ourselves...we rely on God?

There is only so much we can do on our own, and once you come to terms with that, you'll be able to release those burdens that hold you down! So, my sisters, I challenge you to trust in God's divine timing and let go of the burdens that hold you down, whether that be school, work, relationships, finances, etc and let God take the wheel! 🙏🏼
