Hello Fashionistas! Happy November 1st! I'm so glad we made it to another month, and I am excited to see how God blesses us all as we slowly enter into 2024!
Today's post is all about layering for the Winter. I talk about layering quite often in my posts on SBT, so I wanted to give you all a mini-guide on how you can start layering your winter looks, not only for added warmth but also in the cutest way possible!
It is getting increasingly chilly where I am, and the Fall/Winter vibes have definitely commenced! If you want to channel your inner Gilmore Girl cozy sweater vibes, this is the perfect post for you!
With that being said, let's get right into the tips!

1. Save the Thickest Layer for Last
When putting together a cozy and cute winter look, saving the thickest layer for last is a no-brainer! The whole idea is to try to look less bulky as possible, so make sure to keep lightweight, yet effective long-sleeves and sweaters underneath, and keep your puffers overtop.
2. Start with a Turtleneck
Turtlenecks are a great base layer! Not only do they come in warm, well-knitted fabrics, the basic color scheme that you find most in are good starter points for any outfit or style. By simply adding on a jacket and accessories, you'll have an easy go-to look for any occasion!
3. Vests
Vests are an amazing addition to any wardrobe! Vests add more visual interest to any outfit, and they incorporate a lot of added warmth paired on top of turtlenecks, hoodies, and sweaters.
4. Blazers
If you want to go for a more business-like, academic vibe in the Winter, blazers will be your best friend! They can easily be paired over any outfit, and the versatility in the colors and patterns they come in make them statement pieces, and the pop that any outfit needs!
5. Monochromatic & Sleek
The simplest way to convey a classy and stylish look is through a monochromatic color scheme! In the Wintertime we tend to get lazier and think that our outfits can't be cute and warm, but that just isn't the case! Try incorporating the same base color in your outfits, and styling around it with fun patterns, textures, and accessories!
6. (Optional) Accessorizing
Now that we've talked all about staying warm, and having intentional, yet cute Winter looks, let's talk about being extra.
If you want your outfits to shine this Winter, here are some cute ways you can incorporate some life into them:
- Earmuffs
- Scarves
- Beanies/Warm hats
- Purses that match the color scheme/overall texture of the outfit (Ex: fur purse)
That's all I have for you guys in today's post!
This week's bible verse focuses on 1 Corinthians 16:4 (NIV) "Do everything in love."
Ok...short & sweet, right? But let's actually think about this verse. We are currently halfway through the week, and we are approaching a new year quite soon!
We all need love, right? I know I do! Love makes or breaks relationships, friendships, and all good things! From this week on out, I encourage you to do everything in love, by watching your tongue and serving others!
How can we serve others exactly? Here's a few ideas!
- Helping your parents with chores around the house (without complaint!)
- Sending an encouraging text to a friend
- Spending time with your loved ones
- Being intentional with our words
- Surprising someone with a thoughtful activity or gift
God loves seeing us love one another! We are all made in His image and deserving of pure and genuine love, and I hope that each and every one of you receive that today - and if not by mortal being, just know that Jesus loves you more than anything! 💜
