★ Hello Fashionistas! Today's post is specifically for Back To School Shopping! School is soon approaching, and it's time to get prepared!
So, of course I couldn't leave you all hanging without a school shopping guide! Even if your school requires uniforms, there are still some tips in this post that you can use to spice up your uniform!
Anddddd, guess what guys! This is Styles By Toni's 100th Blog Post! 🎉 I have been writing this blog since November of 2021, and to see the growth is absolutely amazing! Thank you all for your continuous support and love!
With that being said, let's get into the post!

1. Buy The Basics
Starting off with basic pieces is a MUST! Basic items such as plain t-shirts, jeans, shorts and skirts are the "bread" of any outfit. Without them, it can be a lot harder to make a cohesive outfit. If you don't already have plain pieces in your wardrobe, I highly suggest buying some, that way you can easily pair them together.
As a plus, most retail stores sell basic tops in packs of 3, so look out for those that way you can get a better deal!
2. Spend Money Wisely
Most of us don't have a huge budget when back to school shopping, so make sure you are investing money in the right places! For example, if you're an athlete and know that you have a lot of track meets ahead of you, you might need to invest in a nice, comfortable running shoe and leave the Nike Blazers for another time.
Additionally, don't shy away from thrifting or hand-me-downs. You never know when you're going to find a gem!
3. Invest in Statement Pieces you can Mix-And-Match
See how this outfit is a uniform? Even though uniforms don't offer much flexibility, most schools allow you to wear a jacket of some sort. So I highly recommend buying jackets with fun patterns and designs that reflect your style.
You can also do this with:
- Hair Accessories
- Shoes
- Bookbags/Purses
- Glasses
- Jewelry
4. Make Sure You Are Buying Pieces Within Dress-Code
The worst thing you can do is spend your entire school budget, just to find out that you aren't able to actually wear those clothes in school! On most school websites, you're able to find the dress-code policies, so either check that, or just use common sense and stray away from crop-tops, baby tees, short-shorts, or anything else that you think might get you dress-coded easily!
5. Show Your Personality
Whether you're the type of girl to wear something similar to the outfit on the left, or one who would wear an outfit like the one on the right (or something totally different than these) it doesn't matter! Your style is yours and yours alone, and don't let anyone ever make you feel as though it is "too much"! Fashion is about self-expression, and no matter how intimidating it can be, always stay true to yourself and what you're comfortable with!
That's all for my Back-To-School Shopping Guide! I hope you guys enjoyed today's post and are able to use some of the tips when shopping!
With that, let's get into our weekly bible verse!
Deuteronomy 32:4 (NIV): "He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He."
This verse is so powerful, because it explains exactly who God is! All His ways are perfect and He is just. If we run to God, we will experience His perfect and everlasting love. All He's waiting on is for us to accept it and receive it, so that we may experience his blessings over our life!

CONGRATULATIONS on your 100th post; I am so proud of you being consistent!🤩✨
ReplyDeleteI did do some light shopping mainly bc I have so many clothes lol! But, I did get many tops that are universal for me to switch out for different fits! I love sprucing up my fits when my mom puts them together bc it’s my style!✨
Beautiful verse! Sometimes we have to remember that we have a PERFECT God who makes no mistakes! If we can trust man to build bridges and roads that we ride on everyday, why can’t we trust a God who is perfect in ALL of His ways and who wants us to prosper in His light!🙌🏽
Thank you so much!! 🥰
DeleteYes, buying simple pieces is the way to go because then you can make them your own in any way you like!!
Exactly! If we can trust man to make safe roads, safe cars, safe homes, etc....then we should be able to trust our PERFECT God to lead us on the right path!
His timing > ours! 🙏🏼
