Hello Fashionistas! Today's post is for my hippie, eccentric, weird, bold and beautiful gals! And all these words I just said? They're all positive, because in my world of fashion, weird IS beautiful and so are you!
I admire what I lovingly call the hippie girl aesthetic so much! It's flowy, carefree and overall something that is timeless! It features gorgeous earth tones (and bold colors in some cases) and really is all about being closer to nature which is awesome!
Let's go ahead and hop into this post because I know you're gonna love it!

If you're looking into the hippie girl aesthetic, there's a few simple essential clothing pieces that you should invest in:
- Maxi Skirts
- Maxi Dresses
- Baggy Tees
- Form-Fitting Cropped Shirts (baby tees)
- Cardigans
- Tote Bags
- Hobo Bags
- Long-Layered Jewelry
In a majority of hippie girl outfits, there's lots of maxi skirts! Although this aesthetic is one you can pull off with jeans, long skirts and dresses seem to be a key factor! Which I honestly love because it makes the outfits all the more modest unintentionally!
Now that you know some hippie girl essentials, let's get into our styling tips!
1. Pair A Baby Tee With A Flowy Skirt
To avoid the outfit seeming too baggy, a great way to break it up is by pairing a tighter item with a looser item! It really helps the outfit have a feminine flirty edge while being slightly conservative.
2. Lace, Lace, Lace
Leaning more into the fairycore side of things, lace is something that will never fail to elevate an outfit in a girly fashion! Try your luck at the local thrift for some lacey tops!
3. Headscarves
Headscarves are so underrated! They can literally take an outfit from "bland" to "aesthetic" and I really wish they were talked about more often! Look at this example - at first you might see a girl who's just wearing a top and skirt, but with the headscarf you can immediately see her sitting under a tree reading a romance novel. Talk about romanticizing your life!
4. Play With Patterns
As we've already discussed, the hippie girl aesthetic is all about being weird and there's nothing wrong with adding some funky patterns! Go ahead and steal your dad's weird jacket he hasn't worn since your aunt's wedding and pair that with a belt you found for $2 at the thrift! Have fun with it!
5. Use Your Crown As A Statement Piece
One thing I love about the hippie girl aesthetic is that you don't have to fit into one single box! You can do your hair however you want and there is so much beauty in that! Experiment with your crown and try out a whole bunch of styles!
6. Waist Chains
Since a lot of shirts in the hippie girl aesthetic happen to be cropped, if you're going to try out this aesthetic, why not accessorize this area? Waist chains come in so many different colors and many small businesses make them so #supportsmallbusiness girls!
7. Round Glasses
You really didn't think I'd forget such a classic item did you? Round glasses are forever an iconic piece in the hippie aesthetic and I would be doing a disgraceful act by not featuring them in this post!
8. Layer Necklaces & Bracelets
This aesthetic features a lot of jewelry! From beaded, to silver and gold you can pair virtually any of them together to create a fun and expressive look! My personal favorite in this aesthetic is when there are necklaces of different lengths paired together! It looks so visually pleasing!
As a side note before we wrap up today's post, I want to let you in on something new that I'll be adding to the blog! In each of my posts you'll see a verse of the day! This is meant to inspire you as you go about your lives and hopefully through the week as most of my posts are on Mondays <3
So...here's today's verse!
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Here God is telling us that if we put our hope into Him, He'll give us strength, so know sister as you journey along that you aren't alone and that God is with you always. Through Him you will never grow weary nor will you feel faint because He is always there to lift you up through every battle that you face!
