How To Try A New Style Without Breaking The Bank

Hello Fashionistas! Today's post is all about how you can try a new style without breaking the bank.

There are new aesthetics and styles emerging seemingly every day!

It's natural as a person to want to grow and expand your style and personality. That's literally part of being human.

But... clothes can be expensive and not all of us have access to an unlimited credit card like Cher from Clueless.

Don't worry though! Today I am going to share with you my top tips on how you can try a new style for little to nothing!

Before we begin, make sure you're following the blog and subscribed to the email list so you never miss out on a new post!

1.  Thrifting

This one should be a no-brainer! If you want cheaper alternatives to your favorite stores, you have a pretty good chance of finding some cool clothes at your local thrift store! And I'm not sure if a lot of you have noticed, but a lot of these 'new' aesthetics take inspiration from older styles, so you might just strike gold! I have a couple of different posts specifically on thrifting tips, so feel free to check them out here

2. Borrow From Friends

9 times out of ten if you have a friend or family member who has clothes that they don't wear anymore, they'd be willing to give them to you! So, if you know anyone who has the style that you're going for, don't be afraid to ask them if you could have some of the clothes they outgrew next time you're spending the night at their place.

3. Accessorize

You can have the blandest outfit, but if you add some accessories, they can really make an outfit pop! You can instantly take a white top and jeans towards the Clean Girl route by adding simple gold jewelry and this can be the same for any aesthetic so don't be afraid to experiment! Buying cheap jewelry is also a lot less expensive than buying a whole new wardrobe!

4. Utilize Colors

The colors you wear say a lot about your style! When planning outfits, think about the key colors that you want to represent yourself in and go from there!

5. Swap Out Pieces

What I mean by swapping out pieces, is pair normally casual pieces with pieces like skirts. This is a great example for a girl who has a previously considered "girly" style, because instead of buying all new clothing, she is incorporating her more casual look with girly pieces. This not only helps show your new style, it also helps you make a unique and fun look!

  1. I love thrifting. I will say if you branch out of your area to thrift you will be able to set yourself apart from the norm you see. Like try going to a thrift store when you travel away from home - see how different people in different areas dress. We have a lot of thrift stores around but there is only like one I like to shop at... So my goal is to try to remember to thrift when I travel... Good post!
