Your Guide To Gym Fashion

 

Hello Fashionistas! Today's post is all about Gym Fashion. You might be thinking, "I'm just going to the gym - why do I need to be fashionable?" But the real question is - why not

With 2023 almost here, a lot of us have made some New Year's resolutions! And if one of yours was to work out more or go to the gym more, this post is for you! I will be sharing my top style tips for gym fashion, gym fashion outfit ideas as well as great brands you can shop from!

Well, what are we waiting for? Let's hop into today's post!

1. Wear What Makes You Feel Comfortable & Confident


If you aren't comfortable wearing something I can guarantee you it is going to show! If you feel confident wearing a sports bra, go right ahead! But if you'd rather wear a tank top, do that instead! Never wear something that you don't feel 100% your best in!

2. Have Actual Athleisure Wear 



Athleisure wear is essential to working out! Why? The fabric is more stretchy, breathable and lightweight! If you don't already have some, make sure you buy some when you can (linked below will be some amazing places you can shop)! And if you don't, an old t-shirt and shorts will do the job, but just so you know - it is a lot easier for those type of clothing pieces to show visible sweat and sweat stains, so be sure to keep that in mind!

3. Have A Matching Set


Matching sets are so aesthetically pleasing! They look cute, plus you can wear them with any sneaker of your choice! If you really are focused on your gym wear being matching, I recommend buying either neutral gym outfits, or buying ones with the same colors as the sneakers you already own!

4. Have A Go-To Jacket


You never know when your "hot girl walk" is gonna get a little cold, so having a really nice lightweight, sweat-resistant jacket is essential!

5. Have A Gym Bag



Any stylish gym girl knows having your gym bag is a must! You need something to hold your yoga mat, water bottle, hair ties and extra clothes of course! There is really no rule to what qualifies as a gym bag in my opinion, so you can use a duffel or a tote! Whatever is big enough to fit your essentials. 

6. Layer Up!




You don't always have to show a lot of skin at the gym! There are plenty of ways that you can layer! You can wear a jacket of course, or you can even wear shorts and knee-high socks! And, if you feel like adding a little more pizazz to your average sports bra, a mesh top or a shrug is a great option as well!

7. Wear Accessories



Just because you're at the gym doesn't mean you can't wear accessories! I would only recommend that you keep it at a minimum because you don't want to accidentally break any of your jewelry or have it be a constant distraction! The best jewelry I recommend for the gym would be simple stud or (small) hoop earrings, chokers (because they don't dangle) and rings! Also, if you feel like giving off some throwback vibes you can wear arm and leg warmers (great for dancers)!  

8. Wear A Hat



Not only are these great for when you're having a messy hair day, they're also great to coordinate with your gym outfit to give you more of an overall stylish appearance when working out!
