Winter Style Guide

Hello fashionistas! In today's post I am going to be giving you a complete Winter Style Guide! I will be doing separate posts on a couple of different Winter fashion components, but this post will be a guide that you can use as a reference for all of your Winter fits!

Winter is a wonderful season, but I feel like all of us struggle at some point with the simple idea of creating an outfit that's cute, but also functions well enough to keep us cozy and warm! No need to worry - in this post I'll be giving you simple tips you can use with items that you most likely already own, to create amazing outfits!

Without further ado, let's get into the tips!

*Side note: All pictures included with people in them are not mine and I hold no rights to the photos whatsoever*

Proportions Are Your Best Friend

Playing with proportions is an easy way to get an interesting look when styling an outfit that requires multiple layers!

The reason why is that they help you look less bulky! Wearing a cropped jacket (with a hoodie or long-sleeve tee underneath) with skinny jeans looks a lot less bulky then a puffer jacket with cargos would look, so this is an easy way to look more refined!

Also, as a side note - on this outfit I would have a contrasting bag and shoes to make this look more interesting (ex: red or blue)!

Don't Shy Away From Patterns

Winter is the perfect time to experiment with patterns! Since we're all trying to stay safe from the cold, we're layering on as much as possible without thinking about what designs the clothes have - but actually, that isn't a bad thing because it can create a great fashion statement!

Also, do you see the amount of texture this outfit has? Leather element galore! Have fun with your wardrobe!

Thigh-High Boots Are A Showstopper

These are quite common in winter fashion! They are actually utilized in the previous photo! These help give a slimmer leg, which in turn helps you look more feminine in women's fashion! It also helps distract from the usually bulkier top half of an outfit (because of the jacket). There are so many ways to style them as they are so versatile - so I highly recommend investing in a pair if you don't have any already (you can't go wrong with black or brown)!

Wear Earmuffs

Do I really need to explain these? Not only do they keep your ears warm, but they also look super cute!

Like, look at this picture - Pinterest worthy, am I right?

Earmuffs come in a variety of colors and patterns, so grab yourself a few so you can really make your outfit pop this Winter season!

Go For The "Boyfriend" Look

The boyfriend look is basically all oversized, like you borrowed all your clothes from a guy and I'm here for it! You'll be warm with all of the coverage on your body and you'll be able to give off an effortless vibe!

Modest, streetwear and athleisure meets Winter - a collab we all needed!

Belt Your Coats

For my girls out there who want to elongate their figure, or simply show off their silhouette, this tip is for you! Simply wrapping a belt around your coat when It's all zipped or buttoned up will make you look much more feminine and less bulky!

Wear Scarves

Anyone been neglecting scarves these past Winter seasons? I feel like they've been "out" for a minute, but they've definitely been making a comeback these last few years! I highly recommend wearing them if you have a super basic outfit on! These help give your outfit visual interest, and you can use them as a pop of color!

Utilize Gloves

Gloves are a great way to add an elegant aspect, especially if you are going for minimalistic clean girl vibes! They keep your hands warm but are also a great way to make your outfit stand out from the crowd!

Big Accessories Are A Go-To

I'm all about making a statement, and you guys know this! If you want a way to make your outfit shine despite of the cold weather, big and bold accessories are the way to go! Having a large purse, a large pair of earrings, an oversized scarf, etc can really make an impact!

You obviously do not need to wear a brand like this one, but you see what I mean with big accessory! It immediately catches your eye! If you wanted to make this outfit more bold having a purse that contrasted with the outfit or vice-versa would've really made this outfit pop!

We have now reached the end of the post!
