How To Make Your Outfits Fashionable

Hey everyone! In today's post I'm to give you tips on How To Make Your Outfits Fashionable. I feel like that's the goal of wearing clothes, right? Besides the fact of covering your body, keeping yourself warm, etc...we all want to look good!

If you are a part of the younger generation, like myself, you might find this to be a bit harder because of the simple fact...we aren't rich! We can't simply be IG baddies if our budget is close to nonexistent...but we can try! So, I'm going to give you some basic styling tips that you can use to make your outfits more fashionable, trendy and chic no matter the aesthetic or style, because these tips can be applied to all of them!

Without further ado, let's get into the tips!

*Side note: All pictures included with people in them are not mine whatsoever and I hold no rights to the photos*

Wear Colors That Stand Out

What's your initial thought when you see somebody in bold colors? When I see them, I think that they are cool and they aren't afraid to stand out from the crowd! The other day I saw a woman with a blue afro and yellow sneakers. I was impressed! I applauded her confidence to stay true to who she was no matter what others thought!

And-  she was wearing only a simple outfit! Bright colors really elevated her simple top, jacket, jeans and sneakers! So, if you aren't afraid to stand out a little bit, I recommend wearing pieces that are bold! They are not only great conversation starters but a great way to express yourself too!

Wear Pieces In Different Ways

This tip is so helpful for outfit repeating, but also really great if you want a unique look! What I mean by wearing things "differently" is that you are wearing them in a way that wasn't the initial intention.

For example, if you have a skirt that is large enough to fit around your upper torso, why not try wearing it that way? It doesn't hurt to experiment! Tip: If you are planning on trying this trick, I recommend tying a belt directly under the bust area. This will give your body more of a silhouette which will make your outfit look more feminine and flattering!

Have Matching Pieces

We have ALL seen how good it looks (especially in streetwear) when somebody has a cute purse that matches their shoes, or a cute jacket that matches their hat! It gives a sense of unity to an outfit and makes it look so much more fashionable!

These pieces do not have to be expensive! You can go to your local Wal-Mart right now and get yourself a cute little bag and a hat in the same color! You can literally wear those same items with a basic white tee and jeans, and you'll have a trendy effortless look ready to go! And, if you already have some matching pieces, go ahead and start experimenting with them! I guarantee you'll be able to make some great outfits!

Wear Jewelry

Jewelry just hits different, simply put! Adding jewelry is such an easy way to make it look like you have style, even when you're still trying to figure out what that style is! Layering some necklaces, putting on some rings, or wearing a pair of earrings can make even the most boring outfits look good!

This is also great for all you school uniform folks (if you can wear jewelry) because adding jewelry to your uniform is a good way to express yourself!

Layers, Upon Layers

I've talked about layering quite a few times, because honestly - you guys are sleeping on this tip! Simply pairing a plain long sleeve top under a dress or adding a button-up over a hoodie can really make an outfit scream "trendy" without you adding in any extra effort!

This is perfect for the person who isn't able to shop for clothes often and needs to outfit repeat! You can get more out of the same ol' pieces without spending a dime!

Wear Black

Most of you probably already have tons of black clothing in your closets, so It's a great time to utilize them! Black is an option for almost every aesthetic and style because It's not only a great base, but it also gives off a sense of edginess!

Black is also the perfect color to add on to with bold colors like in the first tip! Your outfit will look so intentional by simply wearing all black then having a bright red purse and a bright red bucket hat for example!

Be Weird

Why be "normal"? If you like something, wear it! You can create your own style! Don't feel like you need to put yourself in a box to be the world's version of trendy, because at the end of the day trendy is what you want it to be!

Die your hair hot pink if you want, wear all black if you want, wear dramatic eyeliner, wear all baggy clothing - wear what you feel comfortable and the most confident in!

We have now reached the end of today's blog post!
👇Let me down in the comments what tips are the most useful to you!👇
